40 teaching hours in Finnish language, and approximately 15 hours of cultural program.
Get to know Finnish language and lifestyle in an international atmosphere on the Intensive Winter Course organized by the Summer University of Jyväskylä!
The course is aimed at anyone over the age of 17 from anywhere in the world, who is interested in learning about Finnish language and culture. Language teaching is organized in skill level groups ranging from little skills to upper intermediate (A1-B2).
The course has professional and highly motivated language teachers. Our staff is committed to making sure that you get the most out of your course in an inspiring atmosphere.
Language lessons take place during the day. Alongside official lessons our free time program organizes trips to nature, sightseeing and getting to know the Finnish way of life through various activities. During this course our students get to go on a diverse and intensive journey into Finnish language and culture.

The intensive course in Finnish language and culture Winter 2024 will be organized Jan 31st to Feb 9th.
Price
425 € / person
Super Early bird: 350 € / person (until the end of September 2023)
Early bird (after Sep 30th): 375 € / person (until the end of November 2023)
Course fee does not include accommodation.
Registration
Registration for different starting level groups will open later this spring. Registration will be open until December 12th 2023.
After we have get your application, we will go it through and define your language skills level. If we get enough participants for your language level group, we will accept you to the course and send the invoice to you.
Participants
The course is aimed for anyone over the age of 17 from anywhere in the world, who is interested in learning Finnish language. Participants will be divided into groups according to their Finnish skill level. We require a minimum of 2 weeks prior Finnish studies on the Winter course. If you have never participated on a Finnish course or studied Finnish independently, we recommend participating on our summer course instead.
