Specific terms and conditions on the Intensive Courses in Finnish Language and Culture

Please also read Summer University's general terms and conditions here. When the two differ, the terms and conditions below apply.

After we have received your application, we will check it and define your language skills level. If we get enough participants for your language level group, your application will be accepted, and we will send the invoice to you. The registration is always binding and after registering the following terms apply:

• All participants must be at least 18 years old
• All participants must have a valid travel- and health care insurance.
• Enrollment is always binding. When enrolling you commit to paying for the course or the study unit you are enrolling in.
• For our summer courses: cancellation is free of charge by end of May.
• For our winter courses: cancellation is free of charge by end of November.
• If the cancellation is made over 14 days before the start of the course, 20% of the price of the course will be charged as a cancellation fee. If the cancellation is made after that, the whole price of the course will be charged.
• The cancellation must be made by e-mail (summeruni@jyu.fi). We do not accept cancellations by phone or text messages. Not paying the course fee is not a cancellation! Course fees are collectable (Law n:o 706/207).
• Paid course fees will generally not be returned. In exceptional cases a part of the course fee might be refunded, however only if the cancellation was made according to or terms (see above). Please note that the course fee can only be refunded to the payer’s bank account within the SEPA area.
• The Summer University reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the course due to a lack of participants or other compelling reasons. In this case you will be fully refunded.
