Get to know Finnish language and lifestyle in an international atmosphere on the Intensive Summer Course organized by Summer University of Jyväskylä!
If you are over the age of 18 and are interested in learning about Finnish language and culture, this course is for you! Language teaching is organized in skill level groups ranging from beginners to advanced (A0-C1).
The course has professional and highly motivated language teachers. Our staff is committed to making sure that you get the most out of your course in an inspiring atmosphere.
Language lessons take place during the day. Alongside official lessons our cultural program organizes trips to nature, sightseeing, and various other activities to help you familiarize yourself with the Finnish way of life. During the course our students get to go on a diverse and thorough journey into Finnish language and culture.

Early bird 799 € / person (until the end of March 2025)
Course price for students and staff at JAMK and JYU universities: 699 €
Course price for unemployed living in Finland (documentation/"todistus työnhaun voimassaolosta" required): 699 €
Course fee includes an intensive language & culture program (4,575 minutes in total) consisting of daily Finnish language lessons (80 lessons á 45min) as well as at least 20 hours of cultural activities outside of lessons. We also offer many extra cultural activities for an additional fee.
You will receive a link for online payment via email in May.
Course fee does not include accommodation or meals. You will have a chance to eat lunch at the student cafeteria for 6-9 €/meal. See our tips for accommodation here.

Registration will open November 1st 2024 at 9am.
Registration ends May 18th. After this we will still accept registrations for the level groups with availability.
After we have received your registration, we will check it and contact you in case we need any additional information. You will also receive an info letter from us via email before the end of the year.
In case we don't get enough participants for your preferred level group, we will let you know immediately after the registration period has ended. In this case you will have a chance to join another level group or cancel your registration.
Participants
The course is aimed for anyone over the age of 18 from anywhere in the world, who is interested in learning Finnish. Participants will be divided into groups according to their Finnish skill level.
