Free time program

An essential part of the course is our diverse free time program which brings people to the course year after year. The free time program is one of a kind in Finland: you will not get an opportunity to immerse yourself in the language and culture anywhere else!

By taking part in the free time programme you’ll get more familiar with the Finnish culture and customs and get a chance to explore the beautiful Jyväskylä. The activities are led by native Finns, giving you a chance to practise your newly learned Finnish skills outside of the classroom, too!

Our course includes free time activities in addition to the Finnish lessons. The free time program helps students get to know the Finnish way of life through food, culture, winter sports and other activities accompanied by natives. Overall the free time program is organized for approximately 15 hours. Some of the free time activities are included in the course fee, and some might require additional payments. Our free time program is one of a kind in Finland, and it combines the best parts of Finnish winter and language learning through interesting and memorable experiences!

All free time activities are guided. Course participants can choose activities that they are interested in, or even take part in all of them should they wish to do so! Registration for free time activities takes place during the course.

Welcome evening, games and getting to know each other
Sauna evening
Winter outdoor activities, e. g. ice skating, cross-country skiing or sledging
Farewell evening
