Nordplus: Seniors’ Digital Financial Skills in the Nordic and Baltics 1.7.2026-1.7.2028

Seniorien talousosaamista digiajassa -hankkeen (1.7.2026–1.7.2028) tavoitteena on vahvistaa ikäihmisten digitaalisia talousvalmiuksia sekä lisätä luottamusta ja turvallisuuden tunnetta digitaalisessa arjessa. Hankkeen rahoittajana toimii Nordplus.

This project explores, tests, and strengthens inclusive ways to learn and practice digital financial skills in later life by sharing good practices, engaging older adults and experts, and fostering cross-sector collaboration. The project integrates both technical competencies and mental and emotional dimensions of digital financial participation, including confidence, safety, responsibility, and emotional aspects. The main outcome will be a collaboratively developed and openly shared collection of good practices, learning principles and practical methods that organisations can adapt and apply within their own national networks and adult education contexts. The project supports inclusive adult education, strengthened financial agency, and sustainable Nordic–Baltic cooperation.

The project builds on a recent Finnish initiative that piloted workshops on older adults’ digital financial skills. While this initiative confirmed the high relevance and urgency of the topic, it also revealed clear gaps in existing materials and approaches, particularly in addressing the diversity and complexity of older adults’ needs. These insights form the starting point for the cooperation between partners from Finland, Sweden, Lithuania, and Denmark.

Coordinating institution: The Finnish Association for the Welfare of Older Adults

Partner institutions: Örebro County Administrative Board, Medardas Cobotas Third Age University (MCTAU), Summer University of Jyväskylä, and Herning Libraries
